My name is Jalika Cherie. I am a twenty-something, introverted, strong-willed, dark-humored, creative, mom of 3 kids (Yes, my dog is my kid. Don’t judge me!!!!!) and three bonus kids. I never thought that I would be a mom much less a mom of six.
I’m originally from New York City but I moved to Houston a few years ago. Of course, I miss it!
There’s no place like home *clicks heels together like Dorothy*. Anyway, I find myself still in the Discovery of Houston Mode since I haven’t ventured out much… Yet!!!
A Few More Things About Me
I am a singer, writer, photographer, artist, small business owner, and blogger. I also advocate for and am a survivor of domestic violence, sexual assault, and mental health conditions (which I like to say is a welcomed inheritance although difficult at times).
Why I’m Here:
As you can see, I dabble in a few things. With that being said, I started this lifestyle/advice blog because I wanted to take the chance to motivate and inspire you guys to be better version of yourselves while joining me on my journey to do the same.
There is always room for you to become a better version of yourself even if your current self is pretty badass. Why not continue to evolve into an Indestructible Badass (I watch a lot of anime. Can you tell?).
My art and writing will eventually be available to you all to enjoy for years to come. Also, I love reading and trying new creative things so there will be a little of that as well (I just had to throw that in there).
For The Moms:
I challenge you to remember that you are more than just a mother. You are also an individual and your life and dreams do not stop after you have children.
There are so many things that you can still achieve even with the help of your children. No, I don’t mean making them do the work for you like they’re sweatshop workers.
I don’t condone in sweatshops. Sweatshops are BAAADDDD!!!!!! I mean, those little humans will push you to follow your dreams because they see you as the greatest person on earth. Let’s show them what you’re made of.
